Dear Friends,

I’m starting to see many posts about spring, cherry blossoms and renewal. I always found spring to be so charming in Newburgh – the florals combined with the bricks and victorian houses with the backdrop of the Hudson and the mountains. I’m sad to miss the spring energy while I’m in the D.R., where it feels like summer all the time – hard to believe I’ve been here for 2 months! I’ll share more about those two months in another update very soon.

I never did quite capture spring in Newburgh the way I intended – but here are some photos I snapped around town on my phone, over the years. The problem with the phone cameras of the time was that it forces you to have a “wide angle” view, but to me, that wasn’t always what I wanted to capture. Unfortunately, the degradation of the image from digital zoom leaves something to be desired, but “the best camera is the one you have with you,” so I tried anyway. Perhaps it captures the ephemeral nature of springtime blooms. It’s one of my favorite phenomena of the year, and sometimes it only lasts for a few days. I hope you all enjoy it while it lasts!
