Last night I had the pleasure of attending the second annual Ulster County Craft Food and Beverage Industry Mixer. It was a great event at the Falcon in Marlboro, NY. If you’ve never been there, it’s definitely worth checking out – tons of rock ‘n roll memorabilia and live shows all the time! Plus, delicious food. Can’t go wrong.

Between 30 and 60 entrepreneurs in the food and beverage industry from the region gathered to meet, mingle and hear some great insight from county executive, Mike Hein, keynote speaker and entrepreneur, Michael Rozyne and Todd Erling, Executive Director of the Hudson Valley Agribusiness Development Corporation.

The topic of the evening: logistics and collaboration. Rozyne spoke about opening our minds on how we perceive and enter into collaborations. He suggested we be more open minded and adventurous when looking at collaboration, and enter into it with an understanding of the other person’s position. His motto in the speech, “Logistics: a necessity; Collaboration: an opportunity.” And, he definitely wins the prize for the most unique ending to a business presentation: poetry! Certainly impressive.

Here are a few simple photos I took during the event.
